Khan Academy (Click on the link in Google Classroom)

Watch “Shifting absolute value graphs” video and complete practice questions,

watch two “Scaling and reflecting absolute value graphs” videos and complete practice questions,

watch “Graphing absolute value functions” video and complete practice questions.

Helpful hints:

The value of b moves the vertex up or down.

The value of a moves the vertex left or right.

The number before the absolute value symbol affects the shape of the v.  When the number is greater than 1, the v becomes skinny.

If the number is less than 1, the v becomes wide.

This number represents one of the slopes.

When you are graphing, the distance between the two green points on Khan Academy needs to equal this slope. Click on the green dot to move it to the correct position.

A reflection of the v, means the v flipped over the x-axis.  If it opened up, it now opens down.  If it opened down, it now opens up.

Thank you for a wonderful school year! Enjoy your summer!
